Thay and PV Delegation in Vietnam 2007
Dear Friends, this site is to help us all stay in touch with what is happening in the Bat Nha Monastery to the 400 young monks and nuns who are being isolated and harassed by the local forces and people. They have been and are still being terrorized and cut off from water, electricity and phone connections since June. It is clear that this is not a matter of land disputes nor about the validity of these young men and women as Buddhist practitioners. These young men and women have renounced their worldly life for the service to humanity and to the people of Vietnam. Now their basic religious rights as well as their human rights are evidently being threatened and our community is making a collective effort to stay informed, connected and to express our concerns and grievances to the Vietnamese government and to demand the government to take action to ensure the rights and safety of 400 lawful Vietnamese citizens.
Please use this site to share, to pray, and to let our Vietnamese brothers and sisters know that we are here following and will do our best to support them. Let us all come together as a Maha Sangha, at the local and international level, to demand the basic human rights back to our brothers and sisters.
Homage to the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara that hears the cries of the world.
We are practicing with you in the moment…may you have the dharma rain of great compassion and all the nectar and love from the earth….remember nobody can cut you from the great mother!
Sister Karen

love, light and peace,

Dear Friends,
My name is Natascha Bruckner, and I writing on behalf of the Mindfulness Bell magazine, the magazine of Thich Nhat Hanh’s international community.
I am filling in for Janelle Combelic, the managing editor, while she is away. I am writing a short article on Bat Nha for the upcoming issue. If possible, we would love to include some photos from Bat Nha. The photos need to be high resolution (1 MB at least). Could you send us a link to a site where the photos on helpbatnha.org can be downloaded as high resolution files? Or, would you be willing to send us some photos from the “Kitchen Ransacked” file of photos, to edi…@mindfulnessbell.org?
Thank you very much. Our peaceful thoughts and support are with you.
A bow to you,
Natascha Bruckner
